Branding is an important aspect of any business – large or small. It’s what defines how customers and the world will view a company and the goods/services that they provide.
Nike for example, would not be the success it is today if it did not consistently and innovatively promote its brand. Nike is focused on building upon the success it has achieved, by continuing to clearly define its brand and vision.
Apple is another example of how a strong, consistent and well defined brand can lead to success. Apple has developed an almost cult-like following for its products with a aesthetics and functionality that make it btoth unique and popular.
As a small business owner, what can you learn from this? Your brand is everything, and without an effective and well defined brand strategy, it is nearly impossible to ensure that you are communicating clearly and effectively with your potential customers. A strong brand gives customers a reason why they should choose your product or service over the competition.
1. What does your business stand for - What is your mission?
2. Who are you marketing to?
3. What are your customer's needs/wants?
4. What qualities do you want your business to have?
5. What makes your business different from your the competition?
